The Hunt For Red OcTiger 3

Bengals, Tigers, and women have proven to be a deadly combination these days! I pray for all of the families struggling right now. I pray for all married couples right now.

I just saw a friends update on Facebook that said, "Chris Henry died while trying to attack his girlfriend, no sympathy from me........" Another one of his friends replied back with "Hebrews 13:3 We all have demons."

Well do we empathize? Shouldn't we do as the verse says and remember those that are in prison (not only legally incarcerated, but imprisoned to self) as if we were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if we ourselves were suffering?

There are demons in every corner of your life. Those demons seek to control you, and they are instructed by a powerful dark source to destroy you. Therefore we need to seek God in every corner of our lives to block out those demons. The second verse of Hebrews 13 says, "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it!" Do we seek God in everyone!? Do we pray that we are entertaining angels, or do we treat them as though we are the demons ourselves? Love for one another, and peace to all mankind...

Well we are looking to find Tiger, and shed some light on this whole matter... Y'all pray, while we find our way... as for now it's lunch time, and I have a few minutes left to eat! Do not mention the appetite of a Tiger please... thank you. LOL

Until the next time... Peace, Blessings, and Joy... that real PB&J

The Hunt For Red OcTiger!

OK forget the tabloids, if you want the scoop on the latest celebrity news, look no further, you've found your source! Tiger took his wife to the Alps until he is inspired to return to the US. Trenny and Lightnin' (The Strength Trainer) are on the quest to find... Tiger!

The News...

Ok the bad thing is he wants to talk to the Taliban about peace. What's worse is not knowing whether or not President Obama really, truly believes that the talks could help the peace effort, or if it is a set up, so we can eliminate the terrorist that are plaguing our planet!
Now on to the good news! The Coaches for the Cure and Jimmy V Week have showcased some great basketball. The really "Good" news is that Carolina took out Michigan State, and moved up in the rankings. This should be a confidence booster for the Kentucky game this Saturday. The "Great" news is that Wisconsin flushed the big blue Dooker in the Kolh Center! That's right, the Dook went down!

Cyber Monday?

LOL

Black Friday, Cyber Monday... what's next VLOG Vednesday? Yes that's it... Linky On-Line (LOL), LIVE Newscast! Wednesday nights after church! Stay tuned!

Black Friday!

Doom and gloom... Black Sunday... The Raiders bring the bad boy image to the Super Bowl. Black Sabbath, Ozzy and crew bring the bad boy image to music, and become pioneers in the Medal Age. Now in retail it's, "Black Friday!" A time for people to elbow each other at 4:30am and bring the bad boy image to retail! People lifting stuff from each others carts, and some going as far as pulling a gun on someone! As Brian Fellows would say, "That's just crazy!"

Well if you have read the imperfect Christians blogs before, then you know that perfect I am not, however, what the imperfect Christian is; he is smart enough not to get involved in the retail scam of shopping during sleeping hours just so he could say he was saving a few bucks just to drive himself deeper toward insanity! No indeed, the imperfect Christian had sitting/sleeping duties. He stayed at home with the most darling little girl in the world! She is the imperfect Christians favorite subject, especially when he catches her off guard and gets her to giggle hysterically like in the picture!

Thanks Is Giving...

Every now and then we need a helping hand. We are overrun with burdens, and have to have someone help us out. As Christians we at times get caught up in the it's gonna be OK stage. Then when it is self that has gone from that jelly into a jam we seem to forget about the sermon we have preached to the hurting soul that we told to get over it.
I do not boast of helping others, but I take great joy in being blessed to give a helping hand. If I may help someone with funds, or just give them an encouraging word, then it is a great feeling.
There are times when I do not hear God and He speaks through others. I am thankful for a God that loves me enough to bless me with love. If all He did was bear the cross that was love enough. But He has surrounded me with love, and renews it daily! For that I am thankful!
There are still good people in the world! There is a woman that is fasting on Thanksgiving, and giving the funds that she would have spent on a feast for herself to someone less fortunate. A man gave another man money when he barely had any to give. A young man stopped to help an elderly woman change a flat tire in the rain, because he has the love of Christ in his heart and not lust of satan in his heart.
Thanksgiving is bigger than self...

So Todays Your Birthday, (Born Again?)

Today is the USMC's Birthday. So let me begin with saying thanks be to God for all of the courageous men and women that serve their country well. To my uncle's, and my Papa T who served proudly, to my family that is serving now, and to all of the other men and women, who stand for something bigger than themselves. Thank you for making the stand and for turning away the evils of this world that try and make the world a bad place, thank you. OOrah! Speaking of evil and turning away let me move forward.

It was also brought to the imperfect Christians attention just today that the first thing Christ mentioned in His adult public ministry that was recorded was "Repentance."

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." (Matthew 4:17)
My wife once asked me, "Can you truly be forgiven if you continue to sin?" You can't live in righteousness if you live in sin. Therefore, the imperfect one had to say no. So, how then can we live in sin, and be forgiven? We must turn from the sin (180 turn not 360 turn) and walk away. We do not always have to turn away from the sinner, because hopefully one day that sinner will come to a better understanding of Christ love through us if we continue to communicate in Christian love. However, there are those times when we have to wash our hands of a situation, and realize that we have a Savior that is able, and know that we in ourselves cannot save the world, or for that matter not even save a single soul. We can be witnesses, but not saviors.

Today is a day that John Allen Muhammad (The DC Sniper) will wish that he had repented.

http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/popup/?cl=16567508

Above is a clip from Bob Meyers a brother to one of the victims that speaks out on why he is attending each portion of the slayers trial and execution. Meyers said out of respect for all the others he would be at every session. He also spoke about forgiveness, and what it means to him to forgive being a Christian.

Against Thee and Thee only have I sinned, Lord. David knew that he had hurt several people. He had broken up a family by means of adultry, and murder. He had wronged his country, with shameless acts of mild tyranny, but most of all he had sinned against God. God Almighty who had delivered him so many times before.

Father I pray that for my senseless actions, and my sins against You, that You would find forgiveness in Your heart toward me again. Not because I have been caught in a crime by any person, not because I have done wrong to the entire world, but because You know, and because the sins were committed against You. You placed Your name on every sin, for every person, and took my place, our place (mankind), when it should have been me on that Cross, when it should have been me to feel the heat of a devil's hell, You took my place, when You did not have to. You went to hell and back and for that I really am thankful. Renew in me a right spirit Lord God, and let today be a new beginning for me and others that have felt the pain of sin.
Blessings,
The imperfect Christian

Just Thankful HE Does...

As a husband, I have heard what I wanted to hear. As a father, I have heard what I have wanted to hear. As a child, I have heard what I have wanted to hear. I am sooooo thankful that God hears all, and that there is not one place that we can go to hide from His all seeing eye. (Psalm 139:8)

People have asked me to pray for them when I have lived in sin. You know they ask for prayer right after you thought the most horrible things about the driver that just cut you off on the freeway. They ask you to pray when you have been active in sin, willingly lived like a devil! You still believed, and God is always faithful even when I am not, but nonetheless you feel really bad because you feel like a hypocrite saying you'll pray when you should be asking for prayer yourself! Imagine that! I the imperfect Christian believe in Christ, have asked for forgiveness daily, and have been to a place where I have gone back to sin time and time again, and I am thankful, however, that He does not ignore me when I am sincere in my prayer for others. I am thankful that even if I was just doing it outwardly for a show to please others, and I am not, that He does not throw away the fact that we all need a Savior! He hears the cries of the faithful, and the not so faithful. But He blesses with faith, He delights in our delighting in Him. The Word says He inhabits the praises of His people. I am not proud of those moments when I have lived in sin, and having a faithful God does not give me a free ticket to sin, I am just glad that He hears us even when we fall. Pastor Laurie mentions Herod in his devotion, and in my next I will touch on our President. Pastor Laurie says that Herod had everything on his side, with the exception of the secret weapon, prayer! I am so thankful that He hears, that He loves, and that He does.

Until next time...Peace, Blessings, and Joy... that real PB&J

Hot or Just Right?

The imperfect Christian version of Boldy Locks and the 3 Squares! A blog based on a homeboys view of Goldy Locks and the Three Bears.

There was a bold little girl with beautiful hair that went out to find some fun. We'll call her Boldy Locks. Boldy trapesed through the woods near by her hood one day until she came upon a huge techno cottage, and like the Jehovah's witnesses she cruised right to the door. She tapped on the door, but no one answered. This little girl was as dumb as she was bold so she checked to see if the door was unlocked, and low and be bold - I mean behold- it was! She called out in a whisper, (like a certain nosey old gal that we want mention any names about) would do, and walked deeper into the bowels of the techno cottage... she tipped into the kitchen and found some hot lip soup waiting on her. She tried on the first lips, and pow! Too hot!!! Had some pig lips and forked tongue in it.

Boldy looked at the second serving, and thought she would try it out. Whew, big thick and too cold like Mick Jagger, or Steven Tyler winter lips!

Then she saw the third serving, and tried it! Oooh this lip soup is just right!!! Well it took this poor dumb, but bold little girl three times to notice that there was no steam, or frost coming from the third serving. You know Smokey's mama told him he'd better shop around, but at what expense?

Well she got her feel for lip soup, so she thought she would sit a spell like she did at the store in Plum City, and watch the Bold and Pitiful. She sat in the first Square chair, but it was too big!

So she went to the second Square chair, and it was too still just a little too big.

On to the third Square chair and that jo(i)nt was just right! So she peeped the most boring Soap Box Opera in the land until she nearly fell asleep, she fell back and broke the little Squares chair.

She then decided that she needed to take a nap! Boldy ventured through the house and saw the Squares sleeping quarters, so she went in. She tried the first bed, but it was too soft! Boldy a creature of habit followed her same pattern and went up scale to Thug Squares bed, and it was too hard!

Then onto the third bed, and wouldn't you know it was just a notch below the imperfect! So she crashed out in it.

Well the Squares came home and found things a little out of place, you know the routine...

When they found Boldy Locks snoring her hinny off upstairs they wanted to call the police, but Boldy Locks heard them, awakened and bargained. Boldy had a one up on 'em! She said my daddy is an attorney, and we have already sued McDeezy's for hot coffee, and I am willing not to sue y'all for reckless endangerment by leaving the door open on such a rickety jo(i)nt like this!

The Squares were poor not stupid so they told her they would spare her the beat down, and Jr. Square was underage and would beat the rap, so they would settle out of court for a smooth grand...

The moral of this story... Don't try and hustle a hustler, especially when you are a rap rookie playa... and this is the story of the Streetwise bears... That's how Chicago got their football and baseball mascots! LOL

Good-bye Microwave Society, Hello iGeneration

Well good people the time has come to say good-bye to another generation. Look over our past. Some ate raw veggies, and raw meat. Minds straight please. Then there was the open pit, and open flame. On to the woodstove, and then to electric, and gas stoves. However, there came a time when not even those were sufficient, and not speedy enough! So, then came the microwave! "We've got to move these microwave ovens!" Well how much has the custom delivery changed that Mr. Sumner, and Mr. Knopfler spoke of?

The day of the microwave and waiting has changed from waiting on the nuke to get it ready to already "hot and ready." Drive up get it, and get out!
You do not have to go to a store to get music, or video, it is digitally at your finger tips! My little girl at 4 years of age thought that LP's were big CD's! Too funny...

You Tube makes an instant celebrity out of your kid, or perhaps out of you, once your kid tapes you with his/her new cell phone and the latest right now technology. Yes we are coming to an age where your word is not your bond, but your You Tube is!

Until the next time... Love, Peace, and Hair Grease... do something with those waves, and curls!

Now Who's Turn Is It?

Wow, I am certain that many will eat this one up. If only we paid this much attention to God... hmmm, and yes church I am preaching at self on that note!

Ladies from both camps will rush to see that naked young buck Levi Johnston in Playgirl! The old men in the GOP will curse him, and the young and old in the opposing party will envy him.

I watched the interview on CBS this morning, and it was worse that listening about a bickering couple in high school. The CBS interviewer asked Levi why he was doing this now. "Now it's my turn," said Levi Johnston. He said he could say some things to really hurt her (Palin) but he wouldn't go that far. He said that the Palin's argued in front of the children, and that Sarah Palin called her son with Down Syndrome, her retarded baby. That she would come home and say where is my retarded baby? However, when the reporter pushed him to say more, and asked Johnston if the things "he could say" were while Mrs. Palin was in office and if it was a matter of illegalities, or moral issues, he would only say that yes it was while she was in office, but that he would not say anything else. Wow! Levi, how much are they paying you for the interviews man! Hard to believe? When it comes to greedy young men and politicians I would pert nigh believe anything! As for which side he shows in Playgirl, I think it's evident that he is showing mainly his backside everywhere else. After the interview, I can say at least there will be a payday, but is the paycheck worth the price that will be paid out? Well public eye the imperfect Christian says this:

Everyone has glass houses, and the world just ran out of plexi, so put ya rocks down now... or not! Throw it but am low so the elements have a place to escape. That way you may stand a chance at having your house stay upright for a few minutes, but when it crashes the shards cut deep!

Until the next scandal which should surface just any second, I wish you... Peace, Blessings, and Joy! That real PB&J!

Wait Til You See Me Next Time

I have known great pain but can't imagine yours,

Ignoring the brevity of life is an even greater chore.

However, there are some that have never encountered love,

Some so deep below, they've never seen above.

They know nothing at all about pain, nor hurt, nor tender moments lost,

The unloved don't understand the miffed or the severity of its cost.

So deep in their tender love it's as if it were enchanted.

Pressure here in this body, this heart, this soul, the road may seem a bit canted.

Memories of the temporal frame transfer to the eternal and whole.

Memories of a love that's missed, seems to take a toll.

Loneliness cannot express or touch what you feel today,

Love is not a word, it is an action that will never fade away.

Difficult to miss someone, impossible not to cry,

No words to cover up the pain in having to say goodbye.

Well goodbye to some is everlasting, and an agony with no compare,

To others it is God be with you, I will miss you until I get there.

So, please know this my friend you are thought of with every tick and tock.

The pain is only temporal, and the next phase is the eternal epoch.

Sing A Song

You know it's not the same when some key ingredients are missing. You have songs throughout the house, the little one buzzes through and sings in her melodic little voice, an older one sings to an audience of One in his room, and the other sings aqua pella into the shower head.

If you take one of those away it's just not the same. So in honor of my favorite little singers, and one of my favorite bands of all time:

"When you feel down and out, Sing a song, it'll make your day... Here's a time to shout, Sing a song, it'll make a way..." Sing a Song, Sing a Soooooong!

The joy of being carefree!

No, it really did happen that way!

Had a good day at work, and was on my way home, when I noticed traffic backed up. The south bound lane had a man with a cigar the size of a tee ball bat walking his grocery cart like his dog in the middle of the slow lane! Dude had on an Elmer Fudd hat, and a ganja man smoke, and just strutin' down the busiest road in the city at rush hour! Couldn't get my Storm out quick enough to take the pick, but today I am ready for whatever!

OK later that Monday evening I am on my way to my son's soccer game, my little girl is quoting Chappelle that she heard from her imperfect daddy! "Look no further fella, you found him!" she said proudly as I said hey where is so in so? Well upon safe arrival and not crashing the car from laughing at baby girl I three other groups of parents. One set left with a few of the JV players after the JV game was over. The Varsity game kicked in, and the opposing coach got too fired up! They introduced our squad, and the opposing coach came over and gave each of our guys a fist bump! He is the same coach that had his players stay in the rain and help our kids repair a sloppy field by filling in the divots last year, at our stadium. This coach is a class act! Well they kicked in some AC/DC Thunder Struck on the PA! The kids started bouncing and got pumped up, and the announcer belted out the players names! They all ran out with enthusiam toward their coach and gave him solid high fives, or a mean chest bump, or they gave him a fist bump or something. Then they shook hands with the ref. The Keeper rose from one knee, did a quick Hail Mary, made his Cross against his chest, pounded it like he was going into an MMA fight, and then raced out to his coach being the last player, and a gave him a thunderous up top ten!
It was a late night and a cold one. The game saw us get thumped pretty soundly, but the effort was a solid one. It almost hurts to write about how good the other guys are, so I will skip that part... : )
I got home, and saw that at least my Dodgers had faired well. Sweep the Cards, and on to the winner of the Phils and Rockies!
Well there you have it sports fans, the lightest sports blog I could muster!

What The Days Bring...

There are good days, and some that are better than others. One day a child is born, the next sees a child die. One day your career is soaring to new heights, the next finds you looking for work. For one group they rejoice in their candidate winning, the other panics and looks for ways to rebel.

I look at this picture of a young Michael Jackson, and I hear him singing songs like, Kansas City, Kansas City here I come! and ABC, and I'll Be There. He like all of us had good days, great days, and then again he had some that were better than others. What was behind the mask? Was there a piece of the little Michael left? How about you, is there a mask now, and if so is there a little part of the innocent child that knew no hate? Is there a part of you that is like that child that knew how to love and have fun?

God says, "You and I were meant to be..." satan says, "don't hear the part about, 'I'll be there..." satan doesn't want you to hear that part on his behalf or on GODS.'
Sports, politics, even road rage, can make you overlook the finer thing in life. Love... Some people do not know love. Some have been to blind to see it, and others to stuborn to accept it.
John 15:13 (AMP)
"No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends."

Who Really Cares!?

I almost had to be excused for the title on this one. A Marine once said in front of me as a youngster "Who shives a get," to another Marine. You know the military has a code for everything. I didn't think that would be appropriate for a family show, so I cleaned it up for the kiddies.

It's 9-11 a day that most of the world will not soon forget, and a day that some will not think twice about until something of a greater magnitude happens to remind them. 9-11 reminds me of 12-7, it reminds me of people falling hundreds of feet to escape something that they felt they could not bear. It reminds me of pain and grief. It reminds me of some that went through crisis conversion, only to fall away from God once the smoke cleared. However, as crucial as it may be, it also reminds me of a nation that is stronger than any fear. A nation resilient enough to bounce back, and a nation that has overcome more than one tragedy, and does not lie down, but gets up dust off and just keeps getting better. We grow, in size, strength, love, and spirit! We have a president that is bi-racial y'all. Honestly how many would have believed it possible in our life time? I saw American Indians laughing with Asian Indians, White, Black, Latino, humans all gathered together in one place. Muslim, Hindu, Atheist, and Christian, even this imperfect one all gathered in one place to help assure that the world would not view us as a self righteous nation with a self righteous leader. Which brings me to this: if we can overcome the racial hate, religious barriers, and status quos then can't we overcome the arrogance? Not confidence, but arrogance. Racial tensions, and hatred have not gone away, they have just succumb to the greater power of love. Which leads me to believe that the cause of the attacks on our nation was due to arrogance, and ignorance.
I will follow up on the ignorance and arrogance in the next blog, as for tonight, I must meditate, and leave everyone w/ this thought when is it cool to call someone out in public, and when should we pull someone aside as not to offend or unnerve? When should we make a bold stand and when should we just be still? Think on it, pray on it, and make a difference. Love, peace and hair grease, or is it love, grease, and hair piece? At any rate grab your thinking caps and meet me at the forum. Peace, Blessings, and Joy... that real PB&J

Daddy's Girl Part 2

This is the imperfect Christians little HAM! Will perhaps be the imperfect Christians perfect lil' Mia Hamm, but they will cheer my little ones name this go round. She has an opportunity to play soccer this fall, and daddy is way stoked! But you know what blesses me even more? The look that is not for anyone else but daddy. The bashful look when she drops her head on my shoulder when I hug her and give her sugar in the morning before her mother drives off with her and takes her to school. Oh tug at a brothers heart strings! My best friend has two girls I can only imagine how ruined I would be with two! I pray that one day I can get that candid shot of my little girl and our morning embrace before I blink and she's grown. I love you baby girl, with all I my heart... Daddy loves you!

Daddy's Girl

This is an imperfect Christian picture of his perfect playtime with his perfect little girl. This is why I live a better life from day to day! Thank you God!!! Nuff said.

Danger Keep Away!

Have you ever watched City of Joy with Patrick Swayze? It was a movie about a doctor (Swayze) visiting Calcutta, India. He went on vacation for a spiritual enlightenment, and wound up in the poorest sector of Calcutta, and becoming a hero of sorts. He was an advisor, defender of the people, and a doctor to a lepers colony. It was a very sad, but an aw inspiring movie that everyone should see!

Those that were not leper's condemned those with leprosy. They would not allow those stricken with leprosy to go outside of their own sector more or less. Treated them like they were not human, and were just down right disgusting in some of their actions toward the poor, and disadvantaged people. Until you've been treated like a leper you usually do not think much about it. I have never had any diseases, or disfiguring that made people not want to be near me. However, some people see skin color as a deformity, and some see deformation as a horrible thing.

As a child I was afraid of people with handicaps. I was afraid until I learned that they needed to be loved just like me, and wanted to give their love just as much as they wanted to be loved. I grew out of my fear with knowledge. But with increasing knowledge also comes increasing sorrow. (Ecclesiastes 1:18) I learned that not everyone cared for other people only themselves and what they believe in. Now I am not going to get on my political soap box, because I am not a politician, but an imperfect Christian that is an American Citizen. My ethnicity like all branches back to some ancient Hebrews, my detour takes place on every continent, until it stops right here in the good ol' US of A. Nothing presents my feeling like the lepers feel more than when I have someone tell me above all other things that they are not prejudice. Not a "Hey man that's a nice jacket," or "Hey that's an awesome haircut," just "Now I don't have a prejudice bone in my body! You know that, how you been doin'?" I have bit my tongue nearly in two attempting to prevent asking how many times they have said that to a person that was not connected to African descendants.

Every time someone speaks about our President not being a US Citizen like they were the doctor that delivered him, it gives me that same feeling. When they say that he's not a Christian, like they are God Almighty themselves it gives me that feeling. I didn't get worked up over John McCain saying, "That one." But I got that same nasty feeling, when others tried to make a huge race war out of his comment. We could talk abortion, genocide, right vs. wrong all day long, and it still does not remedy the problem that we have. Bridging the communications gap peacefully and rationally would be nice, rather than barking out you're not like me, you're going to hell! I do not hate Muslims, Buddhists, or Jehovah's Witnesses, in fact I am going to invite a non-Christian to have lunch with me in the very near future. Wow, wonder how it will pan out when we eat lunch together and realize that we both need nourishment, that we are both human, and we can sit together peacefully, and not worry about our differences, but find the common ground that allows us to be civil!? I'm praying that our nation comes to that conclusion also. When we can celebrate the day that we allow our President to speak to our children and not have the school officials treat him like the strong arms of India treat the lepers!

I have seen the schools allow DSS officials to interrogate grade school children with no questions asked. Take a frightened child into a room alone with one (DSS Worker) adult, no aide (legal or otherwise), neither parent present, no family member present, not even a guardian ad litem, and not make one phone call. They will however, send a personal message home for the parents to sign, or call every home concerning our President speaking with our children. I have not yet to this day that I am aware of witnessed that before. It is also a first that a President has taken time out of an overloaded agenda to address every child in the country with a positive non partisan, no political gain involved, "National" message to my knowledge as well. So what did the schools message say to me? It said in my interpretation: "Parents we don't want to be held responsible for what your child hears from the President, we prefer to make it appear that we are giving you a choice to speak up before the event takes place in hopes that you will keep us from law suits by sending petitions of disapproval against our President. However, with no warning and not caring about a law suit we will allow an individual to request that a DSS worker intervene, and tell you how to discipline, feed, and raise your child. Tell you what they can, and will not learn because we are not above the law, we are the law! We have thrown out all moral and rational dealings because what we say stands, this is not the NBA, NFL or any other league, group or democracy there will be no review, you will just have to get over it. Thank you." What they do not tell you is that they will do this until enough people stand together and override their ignorance. So why are you still sitting here reading this? Go make plans to be at the next Town Hall meeting, and boycott whomever, has no sense. As Mix-A-Lot used to say, "If you help get the fool hired, help get him fired." If you sat and did nothing, now it is time to take a PEACEFUL stand! Be heard, and be seen, don't be in the herd and make a scene!

"It's not because he's Black, African American, what term should I use here? It's because he supports Pro-Choice!"

Again the imperfect Christian does not support abortion, especially partial birth abortion. I also do not support the belief that legalized abortion is the only or leading cause of death, I believe ignorance is.

Pour Some Sugar On Me

I had awakened and early on Saturday morning, and the days of my being able to crawl into bed with my mom, and pull her eyelids were gone. My attempting such a feat as a teen would land me, as Fred G. Sanford used to say, “Five across the lips,” while shaking his fist at Lamont. Well my mom began dating a fellow that was sort of a bully, and not very kind to put it lightly. And he had been at our house a lot, and the more time you get to spend with people the more you learn about them. He had recently lost his job, started drinking, and was sponging off of my mother. Mom finally saw that he was not the same fellow that she had first met, and asked him to leave. It was not a pleasant ordeal needless to say. But there was one bright spot in his being there. It was another life lesson for me, and has made me a better father, and helped me in the prank business as well!

Our bully had decided to go out for a run bright and early on the Saturday morning that set me off. What set me off was the fact that when he returned he ate the last of my Rice Chex cereal! He just snarled at me, like what will you do about it! Did I mention that he had lost his job? Yeah I thought so. Well I am a man that believes restitution should be paid in full. I am also a very patient soul when it comes to payment, receiving and giving if need be. Well it is better to give than to receive, and it was my turn to give. You can’t eat a brotha’s Chex and then punk him out like that! Most of all you don’t treat a Mama’s boy’s mama with such disrespect! He never gave her money, and he never cooked one meal for her!

Well our friend the bully again was there every day that following week, including the weekend. He went to the cupboard to find the cereal that was purchased without any contributions from his hand, and poured a Jethro Bodine sized bowl of Chex. Used my imperfect Christian Jethro Bowl in the deal again, and my favorite spoon! Did I tell you that he didn’t have a job, and that he hadn’t paid for any of the food that he was consuming!? I did, my bad, OK on with the facts.

He got the milk out of the fridge, again the milk that he had spent nary a dime on, and filled the bowl. Then he grabbed the sugar bowl, and put about five table spoons full on his larger than life bowl of cereal. He sat down and took a bite. Of course I had to stick around because I had grown to be a rather testy teenager. My Granddaddy told me that it took a man to dish out a beat down, and more of a man to stay in the fight and take one. Well I wasn’t going to miss this one, and was willing to take the beat down! He yelled through the house like the house was on fire and told my mom that the cereal was bad. A grown man whining to the woman of the house, the one that he was sponging off of, and had the nerve to wake her and tell her his cereal was bad. I would like to punch him in his grill to this day, for the way he treated my mama! Lord forgive me for imperfect, and unrighteous thoughts.

My mother came out to check on him. He was worse than a two year old, and said, “This cereal is no good.” My mother coming to his rescue began to investigate the crime scene. She checked the milk first. “It’s not out of date, it smells ok,” she took a sip, “it tastes ok.” So then she took some cereal out of the box, “The cereal doesn’t taste bad,” she remarked. So on to the sugar. “It tastes like salt,” she exclaimed.” Wow, probably because it is…” she said holding back tears from laughing hysterically inside! He got up and was ready to kill me, and I smiled as I walked by him with my baseball bat in hand. I praise God for allowing me to be surrounded by friends that prevented me from using another smaller Angels bat on the bully while he was talking trash to my mother. I walked past him straight to my room, and my friend had told his dad that he thought I was going to do something bad. He went into our house, and passed out drunk on my mother’s sofa. I didn’t go to a juvenile detention center, and our bully tried to come back drunk, and promptly got served a butt whoopin’ by the same man that kept me from hitting Juvy. God is too good. All stories should end well, and have a hero. Live the righteous life imperfect Christian, and God will be your hero, and the final chapter will be a victorious one!

Well brothers and sisters, be blessed with a sunny and peaceful Saturday, and give love, as you are loved, and even when you don’t feel loved. For what greater love do we know than the love that was given to us when He laid His life down for us, now that is a man who knows about the beat down!

Peace Blessings and Joy… That real PB&J

Angel In My Morning

I was awakened again this morning by a feisty little girl that loves to crawl into a warm bed. The set back is that she likes to snuggle as close as she can get, and then she draws out every bit of body heat that you once had, and kicks the blankets off of you. So, you have a tremendous drop in body temp, and she is closer to you than your drawers, so you can’t move for fear of crushing her. Oh did I mention the fact that if you move to the edge of the bed she follows you? That’s right good dads you know what I’m talking about. If you roll to the right you face plant in the floor, and if you roll to the left you hear, “Daddy you’re squeeching me!” You put her back in her bed about twenty times per night, and tell her, “no,” but she comes back anyway. She is the only one that I have a hard time pulling pranks on. Girls are so emotional sometimes! Well good people, a good Saturday morning breakfast blog to ya! The life of an imperfect Christian with the cutest little girl in his life at 7am on Saturday morning, and she like he, is looking for cartoons. Yeah I still dig the toons just not as early! Well she is a joy, a jewel in the crown, and nowhere near the nuisance that her old man was when he was little. In fact here’s the perfect time for my childhood prank story:

I Can't Feel My Face...

I almost feel bad for the little fella on the left. I actually feel worse for my grand kids, if I am blessed to have some. They will have to endure second generation torment from their father, and grandfather!

My kids are very compassionate, and all of them have big hearts. If someone is feeling down, or under the weather, my kids will do what they can to help lift their spirits and perk them up. Well on Monday night Smiley was sitting in front of the TV messing with some Legos or something, just hanging out. He and his brother had played Need For Speed Go Fast, Crash, and Somethin' or Nother Edition, and at this point it was just time to unwind before bed. We had a big road trip that Tuesday, and he was just chillaxin.' I went into the bedroom put on my long Black silky shorts to get comfy, then went to the bathroom, and said with no hesitation, "Hey the right one came out pretty easy." I had struggled with my contacts for a couple of days at that point, and was getting more frustrated with each day.

Smiley amazed said, "You got it out already dad?"

It had taken me about 3 days to get them out with the last attempt.

I paused for a second and then belted out a grunt from the center of my belly, and then literally screamed! My son just looked up with a deep look of concern. I stumbled out of the bathroom with eyes wide open, and feeling threw the air like I had lost my way...

Smiley sat with his mouth gaping open, and his eyes fixed on my left eye, that had no pupil, just a red spot running from where it used to be. He was frozen in fear. He was truly paralyzed and just sat there! I fell through the kitchen laughing and he finally got up caught his breath and said, while gently placing his hand on my shoulder, "Dad please don't ever do that to me again, I almost wet myself." He was smiling at the time, but his heart was really racing, it was priceless!

OK anyone else with great stories on what pranks they've pulled on their kids are welcomed to comment. Or even better, if you had one of your parents pull one over on you, please share...

Peace and I'm out... Tomorrow at 1pm starts my 3 day extravaganza!

How Does That Look?

What does a 320 pound woman look like? Now, before you scroll down to look at her pictures, get a mental image of what you think a woman who weighs 320 looks like...GOT IT?

Not exactly what you were expecting is it?? The tallest and one of the best proportioned women for her height in the world lives in Holland. She is 7'4" and weighs 320lbs. OK Mr. Verkade is this what all the women in Holland look like!?
Well here's a tale that's not quite as tall as our friend here, but a good one nonetheless!

A man had just had one of the worst days of his life, and was determined to immediately turn it around. He was willing to do whatever it took to make things work! He had lost his job, his wife was threatening to take the kids and leave, and they were behind on every bill! He had been all over town looking for work, and couldn't afford to move, besides that no other auto companies were hiring assembly personnel. He was without a degree but had technical skills, and learned quickly. He was a big man, around 6'9" and 370 lbs and he was as strong as a bear, but as gentle as a lamb. So, he went to the zoo for one last chance, praying to find some work. He asked the Lead Keeper if they could use anyone. He offered to clean the lobby, feed the animals, and clean the habitations, he was willing to do whatever it took. The Lead Keeper said we have student volunteers from the college that are filling in right now, sorry. Then the Assistant Keeper excited and out of breath came in wild eyed and shouting, "Willie is gone!"

The Lead Keeper said, "What do you mean, has he escaped!?"

The assistant specified with tears in his eyes that Willie their main attraction, the big gorilla had died! The Lead Keeper paused for a moment stricken with grief, then with one thought allowed anxiety to overtake him cried out, "We have a school group coming to see him this afternoon, what will we do!"

The assistant quick witted on always on his toes told the Lead Keeper in private that they still had the Willie suit in the back. With that said the Lead Keeper offered the big man a job! He asked the big man if he would put on a show for the kids. The big man was ecstatic! He agreed immediately to take the job, then ran to the back and began to garb up in the Willie suit! It was a much better suit than the one in the movie "Trading Places," also. LOL

They placed him in the gorilla exhibit, and he began to swing and practice, acting like Willie. Just at that point he noticed that the children had arrived early! He didn't want to disappoint them so he really began to put on a show! He would swing back and forth on a vine that was high in the exhibit. He swung over the edge of his habitation, and looked down and saw the lion watching. He swung back to his tree and thumped his chest at the lion, and snorted. The Lion roared and just looked on. The big man swung over the lions den again and growled fiercely!

The big man was putting on quite a show, and feeling good until he slipped from the vine and fell almost two stories down into the lions den!

The lion walked over slowly, and the big man trying not to blow his cover tried to catch his breath and crawl to a safe place slowly. The lion stalked him. He caught the big man at the wall. The children had mixed emotions, some wanted the gorilla to escape, and others wanted to see the lion eat him, and a few thought the gorilla could take the lion, so they urged them to fight.

The big man kept his cool, while the lion crouched playfully in front of him, just behind some tall grass. Then in an instant the lion leapt over the grass and stretched outright to his limit, placing both front paws over the big man's shoulders! The big man squealed like a little girl with no nerve, and said, "Please don't eat me!"

The lion leaned in close with his nose just under the gorilla's chin and growled mightily one last time. The lion then put his mouth next to the gorilla's cheek and softly whispered in the big mans ear, "Calm down big fella, what're you trying to do, get us both fired!?"

The moral of this story is not everything is as it appears to be.

Someone may tell you that they love you, and have your best of interest in mind, when they are really trying to bring you down, or do what's best for them. However, I know of One that will never let you down and never forsake you. God knows what's best for you, and always has in store for you what is best for you... Jeremiah 29:11
Listen for Him, trust in Him, and go with Him, and you will never be misled.

Peace, Blessings, and Joy... the real PB&J!

Did You Hear That?

Despise and hate according to AJ Darby are two different things. He said that he underlined them in his dictionary so he wouldn't forget that. Hate is from the heart according to my 80+ year young friend, or at least he says, that's what his dictionary says. He said that he told a woman that he couldn't hate because he didn't have one. He has a heart but he hasn't had a thought that evil come from his heart. Some people would say that he said that he didn't have a heart, and therefore, meant that he couldn't hate because of that. He said despise means to dislike someone for something, or dislike what they've done. He said he despised some folks. Well he has a heart as big as all outdoors, and I love talking with him.

How despised are we as a nation, as a people? How despised is the imperfect Christian because he dares to get closer to that non-violent protest side? i am thinking could I offer to shake the hand of a Klan member? Do I really have that much compassion, I don't know but I love Chappelle's skit about the Brotha in the Klan. Clayton Bigsby the Black Grandmaster says after members encourage him not to be frightened and show his face, " You wanna see my face!" The hood comes off, and one of the members is so tore up his head explodes! I laughed hysterically, but I never once prayed for his death y'all...

Actually if you ask Scotty Jenkins, he will tell you that Clayton Bigsby should've been played by yours truly! So, Dave if you fire it back up, I am available, but just for your show! Can we tone down the cursing, I'm trying to not get started again...until next time the imperfect Christian is out! Peace, blessings, and joy that real PB&J!

Trust Fun-d?

The imperfect Christian heard one of the best testimonies that he had ever heard at a Homegoing service. Yes a woman that had already gone on to be with the Lord spoke volumes to us all that day from her casket! The priest from the Lutheran Church said that he had gone into Grandma Sweeties room, called her name and asked if she knew who he was. Grandma Sweetie said that she did not. He said well I just wanted to come back and check on you, and let you know that you can trust in Jesus. She replied according to the priest, "Oh Jesus I trust, but you I am not so sure about!" It was like her spirit spoke directly through him! She was a sharp little woman, and very gentle spirited, but firm all at the same time. Especially if she wanted more butter!

With that I had to ask myself, so I said... "self" and self said, "huh" sorry I just love Mr. Brown... OK on with my thought. My question was am I living a life that bears witness to the exaltation of Christ? OK now remember the blog title "A Day In The Life Of THE IMPERFECT CHRISTIAN," so I know that I am not walking in perfection. However, I should be walking toward the day of His perfecting me. I should with every endeavor look to please Him, even if I am falling short. So what am I going to do today that honors Him, and allows me to express my thanks toward Him?

So what was todays greatest challenge, and how was it overcome? I got to work on time, but not early like I had planned to. The car is in the shop, and funds are low, but tithes are paid, and I trust in Him.

What what todays greatest success, and how was it acheived? The day isn't over yet, but I am going to try, and make an attempt to right the wrongs that are heavy on my heart, and find the resolve in Christ.

Could it be that the greatest acheivment was overcoming the greatest challenge? Perhaps it will be, but I think my greatest success in this day is yet to come! I think my greatest success will be to obtain that Grandma Sweetie mentality! : )

Do We Pray In Vain?

A man calls himself a pastor, and preaches hate, death, and destruction because he doesn't agree with policy. Let me rephrase that, he preaches hate because he misinterprets scripture, and another mans words!

Does it not say that vengeance belongs to God? In that same verse does it not say, recompense evil not with evil? The New King James Versions reads:

"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
Romans 12:20 & 21

That doesn't mean to play Gritball with them like Madea would have you do, and dump a real bucket of coals on their head. But some will interpret it just that way! Hello remember that Romans 12:18 & 19 says to live peaceably with all mankind, and to give place to wrath and not avenge yourself, for "vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

The only difference here is that no one has done this man wrong, he is just upset because he opposes abortion, and feels it's OK to threaten the lives of all those starting with the President who oppose him. As an imperfect Christian I do not support abortion. But I do support choice. I do support freedom of speech, and I do support the right to agree to disagree. Not to disagree because we like to argue, but because even if you do not agree with me or anyone else, that's your choice! We all have decisions to make, and there are consequences that come with the choices, but we have the right to make them on our own. If you want me to pray then know I pray for HIS (Almighty Gods) will and not mine or anyone else (especially a false teachers), but for Gods' perfect will. Vanity of all vanities, let our prayers ask for nothing, but rather give thanks with every breath we take.

I am praying for Steve Anderson to have a true loving walk with Christ, and I am praying for another Dr. King. A peaceful humanitarian, and a peaceful, humble protester to rise up, and make the next step toward change... A man or woman of integrity and of any ethnicity...Lord let that prayer start in me.

Two Brotha's, Blackberries, & A Baker...

The imperfect Christian really needs a new camera, but for now the iberry is doing the trick. This shot of the kids playing in the creek reminds the imperfect one of his own childhood. Playing with friends, seeking new frontiers, just enjoying the summer! This blog is about those great childhood memories...

The Banker told me that I should do a blog about a very special lady, and her Blackberry Cobbler! So here it is. The Banker and the imperfect Christian set out one day to have a little fun. We found some snakeberry clusters, and went on a picking frenzy. We had more copperheads, and moccasins back in the day, and one had to be cautious about where he/she placed his/her foot.

The Banker and the imperfect one picked a few and ate a few. For those of you that have never attempted to pick enough to make a pie or a cobbler with it’s less tedious if you just pick and do not eat at the same time. The Banker and the imperfect one gathered these blackberries and took them to the Baker. To call the Baker an extraordinary cook was an understatement! She could with just a smidgen of sugar, milk, and just enough flour make your mouth water like never before! She also made some mean dinner rolls, and homemade jellies. Well with just a few hours of picking, and speaking on my behalf only I did not deserve the goodness that was about to take place! The banker and the imperfect one had a cobbler prepared that was unbelievable! Talk about two fella’s that had it made!

We left from there that afternoon with a sweet goodness that would make a diabetic cringe, and a health food fanatic lose it! Did you say diet, or no sugar intake other than natural fructose, well my friend just to smell what came out of this kitchen would doom you. It didn’t stop there, however. The next stop was up to the tall mans house that lived next door. The Banker called him “Granddaddy,” and the imperfect Christian knew him as “uncle.” The tall man greeted us with compassion as always, and he was a man raised to be hospitable, and gracious. That generations generosity is second to none. He as the two cousins if they were thirsty, and the Banker said, “Yes Granddaddy can I have some juice.” He replied, “Yes son, and see if the imperfect one would like some too.” That day I had my first dose of “Jungle Juice!” Or as Chappelle would call it… Purple Drank. That stuff was liquid gold to two country kids on a hot summer day. Riding bikes with the Banker, Buttermilk Pies from the Bakers, a shot of Jungle Juice from the tall mans, I miss those days. As Stevie Wonder would sing, “I wish those days - could come back once more, Why did those days – ev-er have to go, Cause I miss them so…doo doo doo doo doot doot doot doot doot doo doot doo…”I miss my people by the lake, and all of those that have gone on before us. I know though that what I the imperfect Christian misses most is the generosity, the fun times, the lessons in love that were manifested through those people. They truly lived by the Golden Rule, and treated others the way that they would want to be treated.

Hey Mr. Banker… thanks for making me feel like a kid again, I love ya Cuzz!

Promises, promises...

The imperfect Christian took this rainbow pic in a district called Swannanowhur. The home town of former UNC standout Brad Daugherty. When the imperfect one sees a rainbow, he thinks of Gods' promise. In the imperfect Christians mind only God is capable of making promises. The imperfect Christians boss once told him that he did not like to, or very seldom made promises. He said I just don't make a promise unless I am 100% certain that it is already done, and delivered, waiting for the recipient. The imperfect Christian is down with him on that one.

The Word says that God is not slack like some men..."The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) NKJV

God promised no more complete floods, but has allowed a high water to occupy a few lands, and a few hearts. But no complete flood. No complete death, but a instead a new beginning. Genesis 8:20 & 21 from the Amplified Version says, "Noah built an altar to the Lord and took of every clean [four-footed] animal and of every clean fowl or bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
21When the Lord smelled the pleasing odor [a scent of satisfaction to His heart], the Lord said to Himself, I will never again curse the ground because of man, for the imagination (the strong desire) of man's heart is evil and wicked from his youth; neither will I ever again smite and destroy every living thing, as I have done."

Genesis 9:15-17 also the Amplified Version says, "I will [earnestly] remember My covenant or solemn pledge which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy and make all flesh corrupt.
16When the bow [rainbow] is in the clouds and I look upon it, I will [earnestly] remember the everlasting covenant or pledge between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17And God said to Noah, This [rainbow] is the token or sign of the covenant or solemn pledge which I have established between Me and all flesh upon the earth."

The imperfect ones boys love to sing Standing On The Promises, and has to admit the imperfect Christian does too! Shaq may guarantee another NBA title to his franchise, and fans... Favre may promise after this season to never play again... perhaps even MJ will reverse his promise not to play again and we will see him in a Bobcat uni? But one thing is certain, when God tells you something, you better believe it. No promises on my next blog, no promise that there will even be a blog, but I can promise that if there is one, God will have His way whether I am in His will or not, and that you can bank on.

What's Next?

The imperfect Christian has been to sanctuaries that represent almost every church that you can imagine, in both Protestant and Catholic settings. He has even witnessed a sayonce/seance, use which ever spelling (no pun intended) you prefer? The imperfect Christian has sat, kneeled, and stood in Cathedrals, Synagogues, and Chapels all over North America, and even in some island provinces of Jamaica. He has been to a couple of state penitentiaries, and mentioning ball and chain, he has even done a few weddings (Laughing). The imperfect Christian has partaken in funerals, or as the spiritual churches refer to them, he has been involved in a few Home Going services.

The imperfect Christian spoke at his youngest uncle's funeral, and that was a tough pill to swallow! The imperfect one spoke at his inherited dad's funeral, and that was a tough one too. On the day that his inherited dad went to be with the Lord his dad looked up over his shoulder, and just stopped breathing. He administered CPR, and the whole 9, but as the Skyline Boys would say, "When he saw Jesus it took his breath away." He was glad that he was with him, and was glad that he was there for his mom. That is what family is about. Being there for each other. Which brings us to this story.

The imperfect Christian has had some struggles y'all. Times have been tough for most of America. But you know that a blessed family will tell you that they don't need a lot of money. They don't need to feel like they have a higher status than others, they only need each other. As long as we have each other, we have everything! The glue that keeps us together is the Christ! So on to the Imperfect weekend... the imperfect one had every intention of doing yard work, and wound up getting rained on all night Friday, and most of the early, early morning Saturday, so no mowing with the push mower. The riding mower needs repairing, and he just did not get to the weedeater at all! So what did the imperfect Christian do? He took a Saturday off! He did however, rush to make every attempt to get to a very special ladies birthday party, and then got there 4:30pm CPT 30 minutes late! The host family was waiting as the imperfect Christian and his crew drove in. The host family was there riding the horses by the pond trotting in a single file, and the imperfect one felt a little less than perfect for sure this time! They were waiting on the imperfect Christian and his family so they could trail ride. Both families rode for a little over an hour, and the horses were great! Everyone seemed to have had a blast! The imperfect one got to saddle up with Clyde, and he was a hoot! Clyde was a big caramel colored horse that matched the imperfect one's skin tone (smile and saying in his best Dr. Evil voice "It's twue). Clyde bucked his head a few times chompin' at the bit, but was a pretty gentle horse for the most part. I think both were chomping at that bit because they were both ready for a nice run. Old Clyde was steady and didn't slip much. The crew rode through the mud, and the hills, over some rocky areas, and then through the river, it was a great time. The imperfect Christian even videoed a portion of the ride on his iberry. Well what's next? The video if the imperfect one can get it uploaded here. LOL

The crew finished their ride, and then all went back to the young ladies house where everyone was going to bunk for the night. Well everyone bunked in the house to avoid the lightening and the monsoon! The imperfect one slept between two snoring ladies and woke up due to excesseive snoring like Ulysses "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" McGill, and said, "What!?" I don't think he shook his head or checked his hair though. He could have but don't think so. The younger crowd pulled an all nighter. They slept (made their sleeping quarters) on the carport, after the storm threat lessened, but did not sleep at all!!! One el Tygre fell asleep that morning after staying up all night, and missed all the morning excitement! He had pulled two consecutive all nighters, and was spent! The others got up early and went back at it again! That's when the imperfect one got the text. What happened next, humbled him, and showed him the awesome power of Almighty God!

The text was from a wife that loved her husband, and was trying to help. She was trying to get a better understanding, and also to better love her husband. The text said, "imperfect Christian we need you!" His friends father had been pretty sick for a while, and they needed someone to come with a calm, and high spirit about them. He wondered why she chose him! He wondered why God chose him, the imperfect Jonah! The imperfect Christian that ran from the Call so many times before, and was trying to do so again. The same imperfect one that said he would never preach again, and did not feel that he could please God in any way, received the Call. So why is God calling? Why do we as humans allow are hearts, to get so beat up, and our minds to wander so far!? He called because He does not call the qualified, but qualifies the called.

The imperfect one was tore up, but couldn't say no. His friends needed him. How are you gonna turn your back on your... oh wow thought the imperfect just before completing his sentence with... friends. The imperfect Christian turned his back on his best friend! Turned his back on the One Who said that He would never leave nor forsake us. Well no longer. The imperfect one realized that Christ had called him through earthly friends. That is our commission after all to love one another correct? Therefore the imperfect one informed all in his party that something urgent had come up and that they needed to be ready to leave asap. Man I feel for the pastors wife! Well the imperfect Christian left for Skyland and the Big View. When the imperfect Christian got the place where the land meets the sky he found his dear friend pictured above in the final stage of his physical life. The imperfect one was greeted at the door, by his missus, and by his son, and daughter-in-law. He (Mr. C) was in a coma since early Saturday. He was pretty much on his way to be with our Savior. He was just waiting for the opportune time to be alone, so he could go with Him. As a racer, and a driver Mr. C was now as the Hoppers would sing, "Just Waiting On My Ride." Once his son, and his wife had left the room, and gone outside, Mr. C went on that new first ride with his Savior.

That's when Mr.C's son M.C. came out to inform us that Mr.C took that ultimate ride! The imperfect one had a feeling that they would ask him to conduct the services. He was led to this feeling by an earlier conversation with Mr. C's son and daughter-in-law. The imperfect one was honored that they even considered him. However, he felt really bad honoring such a good man, being so far away from the service of the Lord. He felt horrible about being in the same sanctuary with other good people, and felt like he was letting them down. This family for the most part was Catholic, and they asked a fella that grew up in a Union Church that branched from a Baptist, and Methodist Church to do the services for them. That they saw any good in such a wretch like the imperfect Christian at all that resembled the love of Christ, truly blew him away. Again it was an honor to be considered, but he just felt out of place spiritually. He felt right at home to be among friends, but to be there conduct Mr. C's Home Going made him feel as though he was doing him and his family a huge disservice. He learned during the ceremony however, why it was that he was there. It is not always the messenger that has a lesson to teach when preaching, but oft times it is the messenger that is taught during the lesson.

The imperfect one was greeted by the directors when he first got there. They asked him for an order of service, and he (as he was accustomed to) conducted most everything on the fly. He had been used to doing so ever since he was first Called. He did have plenty notice for this service, which was unusual, he was usually called a day, or a few hours before time for his engagement. Lately he has had plenty of time to prepare, and has taken less and less time to prepare. The imperfect Christian hasn't done things extemporaneously with every occasion, but he has had to make adjustments for sure.

The service was a beautiful service. Family and loved ones gathered one last time to pay honor to Mr. C. Mr. C's son asked the imperfect one to say something for him because he didn't feel like he could hold himself together long enough to make it through what it was that he wanted to say. So with minutes before service they put together some last thoughts. Wow was it a blessing! Three of the four sons spoke, and one did so indirectly through the imperfect one. The other son remained quiet. There was a lot of prayer lifted for the quiet son, and for his family.

Speaking of prayer, the imperfect one went to be alone just before the service and prayed to Almighty God. He met with the director, and was escorted to the alter. The service was opened with the imperfect Christian giving the Invocation. A few words spoken, and an order of service given, then with that Mr. C's younger brother L.C. was called to share and reflect on his most fond memories. L.C. gave a message that the imperfect one called, "The Spearmint Love Message." You know double your pleasure? L.C. said that he remember his big brother taking him places, and telling him at age 14 that that would be the only time in their lives that he would be twice exactly twice L.C.'s age being 28 at the time. He said they spoke on the phone one time, and L.C. told Mr. C that he loved him, and Mr. C said I love you too, double! Henceforth the title above, LOL!!! L.C. shared about a loving brother that he invisioned having a last supper, and being seated in a much higher place now, and being with Christ, and he shared about a man that he looked up to as a youngster, and even as a man. It was a beautiful testimony about a brothers love!

Mr. C's sons spoke of a loving father, and both that spoke on their own did wonderful work. K.C. talked about how Mr. C loved his kids and how he was there for them always, and C.C. mentioned how much Mr. C loved his wife, and he only wished that the family would remain close, and that his brothers would love their wives as much as their father loved their mother.
The imperfect one learned a lesson in love, and learned that no matter how well rounded or how grounded your family is, you can never, ever, never, ever get too much love in, or lovin'! Be blessed good people love one another, and do not sweat the small stuff. The most amazing thing in a lifetime to me is the brevity of it. Love while you can love and live to love for an eternity.

Peace, blessings, and joy... Mr. C and to all of your family!

Love from the imperfect Christian!

What Was I Thinking!?

Zig Ziglar wrote, "The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now." Powerful statement!

I the imperfect Christian does not want to focus on the want now microwave society things, but the things that are truly going to make a difference in my life, and be worth while! Not just worth while for me, but for others also. The imperfect Christian not only lives for today, but tomorrow, and for eternity, and I want each day to be more blessed than the last! One of my favorite scripture verses is Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (KJV)

The imperfect Christians' perfect desire is to please Him, not just get what I want! It is God that gives me the desire to be a better servant to Him, a better husband to my wife, a better father to my children, a better brother and friend to my biological, and spiritual brothers and sisters.

I have thought about buying a dual sport bike on several occasions, or a used bike, and I know that the R1 is the one that I truly want! I have thought about several business endeavors, and thought about how nice it would be to live in a city that never sleeps again, and then I thought about God telling His imperfect son that He has a desire to see him finish his schooling and earn that degree in the ministry, and continue on as a great minister. A minister that is mighty indeed for the Lord! A minister that allows God to manifest His greatness in him when he is weak, so that God can be proven as Almighty! He also desires that I am the father that would put his own life down for his family. What greater love than this, that a man would lay down His life for you? So what was I thinking when I wanted... because the Lord is my Shepherd, and I shall not want! Jesus I am grateful for Your love, because You loved me before I knew to love myself!

Work It Out!

All eyes on seem to be on Brett Favre in the sports world this week. Packer fans hate him for now... wait until some Packer or Favre tragedy takes place, and most will forget about the happenings of 2008 & 2009...I did say most.

Those that hate the Packers are either ecstatic about his last two seasons, and if the Packers are a bust again this season with Aaron Rogers at the helm then the haters again will have reason to talk and smile among themselves.

The loyal Favre fans, cheer him on wherever he goes, and just wish for one more glorious season and a happy ending for a somewhat brilliant career. My take on this: If he can play I ain't mad at him! Let the Wilf Bros. call me and say, "Hey old man, we hear you still have decent hands, and your speed is not great, but on the other hand your routes are not bad, and you're not slow by any means, just not as fast as you once were, so how about a one year, one point six?"

My reply is: "I need sometime to pray about this Mister's Wilf, OK done God said to ask you where I sign, He already knows but I do not, so where do I sign? and thank you."

I am a Raiders fan, I bleed an imperfect Christian Black and Platinum when I am football cut, but let KC, Denver, San Diego, and all out of conference rivals call me with a contract...chi-ching I'm in! So we can say what we want, and I am certain Mr. Favre listens to some of us, but he has his own decision to make. Speaking on decisions, what if he listened to the media? What would happen? What if we as Christians listened to the media? Well I for one being the imperfect Christian would tell you that the nauseating roller coaster ride would have had more ups and downs than Rush Limbaughs gums... a whole lot of movement and nothing good coming out!
"You are only human," so many say. Matthew 26:41 Jesus said, "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Therefore, the imperfect reminds himself that he is a three part being, spirit, mind, and body. Yes, I occupy a fleshy temple, and the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing indeed. I just need to keep focused on a cohesiveness with His spirit, to maintain my spirit's willingness. I can't depend on anyone but Him. No need to run to the neighbor, the priest, or my rabbi, He (Christ) is right there/here.
So getting my spirit right is key. How do I learn about getting my spirit right? Through the Holy Spirit, and through His Word. So who do we read our bibles for? The Word says, "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;" (Philippians 2:12) Well Eastside Work It Out, Southside Work It Out, Northside Work It Out, Leftside Work It Out!!! OK to much hip-hop and caffeine!

Some of us (our perfect Christian brothers and sisters) have nothing better to do than to try and work out everybody else's salvation, when we need to be concerned with our own!
Back to football... does it really matter that Favre plays or not? To some a great deal, but who does Brett focus on? Hopefully, God, his wife, and his children! The media haters and everyone else makes little or no difference. He feels that he has some game left. The flesh and some of the Packers staff convinced him that his flesh was not able to play anymore, but his spirit being willing said, "Brett ol' boy (in a Southern drawl that's not as thick as it once was) I think you stil have a few in the tank!" He led the very quiet NY Jets to a somewhat decent season, wasn't stellar, but they weren't the Lions! Sorry Motor City Kitty fans. Then there is Plaxico "You're under-arrest" Burress! Got to give props and thank Heather Marie, for this: He should have shot someone besides himself, it would have been less painful, and he would have probably got less time! The NFL = Lots of $, plenty of fame, and fortune, but "Not For Long." OK enough with the NFL...

The imperfect one asks, do we preach the gospel or the gossip? Do we spread the good news, Christ can save you from sin, or spread the sin news you will not change and you're going to hell? Now bad talking Brett Favre is not going to send you to hell, if it would I would have been struck by lightning every time Sunny and the aunt talked football!

Well every individual is different, as I have said before and will say it again, "in every body there is a different person." The bible is not a legal weapon to be used like a crooked lawyer or a Pharisee would use, it is a love letter, and a guide in the form of the Holy Spirit shows us how to avoid sin in our own lives and pray for others, not condemn others, that is not our place. Nor is it a place that God wants to be in either. If we believe, we are saved. If we do not believe we condemned ourselves according to the Word. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved... John 3:17 We know 16, but how many remember 17?

The Bible is so much better when we read it in love, read all of it, and read it all with His divine guidance!

Peace, Blessings, & Joy...
