You Followed What & Got Where!?

The imperfect Christian has been blessed with some brilliant friends that say things that manifest their brilliance. A given is that The Holy One is the most brilliant, so I am going to give Him, His just due today, and praise Him.

In times of struggle, you may hear people advise others to go with there heart. Is that good advice? Go with a heavy, already hurting, and confused heart? What does a heavy heart produce? It produces a slower beat, and an eventual anxiety that leads to a shattered heart. Who sings that song, "I'm Falling To Pieces?" The lyrics say something to the effect of "when a heart breaks, it don't break even!" So is it good advice to tell someone to go with their heart? How about going with your gut feeling? Same difference different terms? Well here's something the imperfect Christian heard from the advice column: People that fail miserably are giving advice where they have not only failed miserably, but are still failing! That is powerful! How quickly are we imperfect Christians willing to give someone advice, when we don't have things straight in our own lives!?

Well via a tweet, I read these words: "Instead of following my heart, I have decided to follow Jesus!

There is a new release of a Southern Gospel Track titled the latter. So who, or what did you follow, and where did it land you? Here's where the imperfect Christian could've been had he followed his heart:

Krispy Kreme for breakfast every morning, unhealthy and unwealthy.
The Trek store, but healthy this time, however, again without funds.
The Music Shop with a huge smile and happy, until seeing that no funds leads to not being able to pay for the necessities in life.
Eating ice cream every night for supper at a little angels request, finding me in the end unhealthy and beaten by her mother.
Or on the road all the time, never at home, and eventually without a home. The imperfect Christian and Kert, the lonely rolling stones!

Oh the list could go on, but in plan simple English, if a six year old gets it, then you in the 20/30/40/50/60 year old body with the mind of a teenager should get it!

How Do You Get High?

What do you have with a cool Lake Michigan breeze, a Carolina Blue sky over a blessed Wisconsin home? The perfect day for a family Easter gathering. To be imperfect, and see His love poured out still.

To have the grace of hearing your children laugh with a never ending energy as they hunt for Easter eggs.
To be a part of the fraternity that is now a part of the inherited family, that sits around downstairs, laughs and gets excited over the games they're watching on TV.

To be reminded of the mercy He bestowed upon us with Easter egg devotions. To have the hostess, a great Christian teacher, an even better Christian wife, mother, and grandmother remind us that it is Him that mercifully saved us from a devils hell!

Yeah that's the difference between grace and mercy as Pastor Henson would say:
"God gives us grace by giving us what we don't deserve... and the mercy not to give us what we do deserve!"

So how does the imperfect Christian get high? It starts with a hug from the aunt that opens her door for you. It continues with more hugs from more aunts, and cousins. It's getting a kite started a mile above the grass that is greener than the green in Green Bay, for your 6 year old, then allowing her big cousin to join in on the fun. It's the football game in the back yard where no one boo's if you throw a pick or miss an assignment. It's the love unconditional that still calls you family even when you forget to send a birthday card, and now we have email and Facebook, so shame on you if you miss one! It's the passing on tradition from one generation to the next, and enjoying what God has given that makes the imperfect Christian high. I hope this trip helped you get up for another good time.

Until the next time... Peace, Blessings, & Joy... that real PB&J

Not Ashamed!

It is unheard of anymore that someone would express their faith openly on a major network. Express their faith and not catch grief over it anyway! David Kim did not just hang a Cross over his car mirror, or smack on a fish emblem on trunk of his car, he prayed on National TV in a church, and dig this... he also prayed with an employee on the sidewalk during the filming of "Undercover Boss!" The imperfect Christian has to give credit where credit is due: With Chick-fil-A, Mr. Kim's company "Baja Fresh," ranks up there in the upper eschalon. Infact the imperfect Christian gives them a (Marine Corp based/themed) Imperfect Christian "The Few, The Proud & The Blessed Award!"

Mr. Kim, to this point, has been one of the most generous CEO's on the CBS hit show "Undercover Boss." David Kim gave a franchise to, the now, youngest owner in the Baja Fresh community. Yes, you read correctly, the imperfect Christian said, "gave."

He is not afraid to help others, and not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ! David Kim is more than just OK in the imperfect Christians' book.
Study to show thyself approved, a workman need not be ashamed rightly dividing the Word of God...

The imperfect Christian is now a huge fan of Baja Fresh and Mr. Kim, and is blessed to call him a brother!

Just By Chance

I returned and saw under the sun that—
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 (Amp)

Sometimes God will not do for you what He expects to do through you. Then at other times He through His Sovereign Arrangement will show your physical eye what your spiritual eye missed, and will bless you without giving you any say in the matter. He will show you a miracle spiritually when physically all you have seen was a mishap! By chance could it be a blessing in disguise? Lord I pray so...
