Church Mother Jab!

Have you ever been to a church or out in public, and have a woman stick and move on you? The exception being that she did the sticking, and your head and neck did the moving?

While in Jamaica, The imperfect Christian developed a stomach disorder. Mama T (the deaconess) chalked it up as running stomach. Her husband, Deacon Thomas, with her diagnosis, anointed the imperfect Christian with oil. He slathered it on the imperfect ones'  head, neck, and body. The deacon smacked the imperfect Christians skin like a good corner man does a fighter. The deacon prayed over the imperfect one, that day and gave the instructuon that everyone was to rise each morning at sunrise for Son rise at 5:30am to have devotion. After much prayer, The imperfect one examined Mama T's ingredients, and discovered that Mama T was putting milk (a lot of milk), in his breakfast drink. From then on out, it was only fruits and veg-Jah-tables  (veg-Jah-tables="vegetables" in the imperfect ones best Jamaican accent), an "I could've had a sweeter V-8," smack to the forehead, and healed! This was the cause of his running stomach, because the imperfect Christian is lactose intolerant... No more milk, no more running stomach, Go, and be blessed!

One of the imperfect Christians favorite church leaders "Ms. Alice Swepson Ray," once prayed over him after noticing that he was hurting spiritually. Then with a Holy Ghost, pungent swat to the forehead, and a mild case of temporal whiplash, that lasted all of approximately two seconds, he was healed. In fact the imperfect Christian laughed after he realized that she had just knocked some sense into him.

Then there was Mrs. Freeman. Mrs. Freeman used to do the same thing, and tell you that she loved you, but she would tag you with that flat open hand, to the forehead, quicker than a young Ali, and sharper than a seasoned, and oh so, crafty Larry Holmes could have.

The imperfect one loves the late Ms. Marilee, and Ms. Alice, and he loves the Thomas'! Above all the imperfect Cristian loves The Lord, for introducing and allowing him to meet and know such great people. The imperfect one thanks Him, and praises Him for allowing him to go, and be blessed!

Deuteronomy 28:6
Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

Do You Have Annoying Facebook Friends? And Does That Bother You? 4

Do you have a friend on Facebook that everyone says that you should delete? You contemplate deleting them, then you decide not to? Why would you keep a person on your friends lists that annoys you to no end? Well one such on friend on the imperfect Christians list said, "All Black women should be banned from driving, simply because no Black woman can't drive!" He also said, "To all my Black friends, admit you only voted for Obama because he was Black, and to my White friends admit that you were just wrong, and made a huge mistake!" Does That Bother You? It bothered the imperfect Christian to the point of praying for that person, and posting positive notes about everything, and about how Gods' will is more important than any of our won't's. For the record, "won't's" is very slang and will not score you positive points in your English classes boys and girls, but goes nicely as an "opposites attract" with "the will." The imperfect Christian (obeying God) prayed as hard as possible for this person, and even told this person directly, that he would not reply on his wall, or anywhere else about him, or his ideals, regardless of how negative he became, that he (the imperfect Christian) would just pray for him, and you know what? That person deleted the imperfect Christian! It's easy to pray for those that encourage you, those you love, but how about those that don't encourage you, or give you much reason to love them? Matthew 5:44, says hallelujah anyhow! Pray anyway! The imperfect one gets a great joy in being rejected for the sake of Christ! Beaten spiritually for the sake of Christ in a sense. Let the Holy Ghost Party begin! We rejoice at suffering disgrace for the name of Jesus Christ! (Acts 5:41) The imperfect one has said it once and will say it again, "the imperfect Christian may not be the life of the party (Christ is), but man he sure knows how to get one started! Rejection, being popular, or gaining favor is not for the imperfect one. The imperfect Christian does not need to be lifted up, take any credit, or receive any glory in the matter, but because the Holy One placed a conviction upon that persons heart that made him delete the imperfect Christian, yeah that felt pretty good, and the imperfect Christian left the online Sanhedrin rejoicing on his imperfect way. Not because this man was upset enough to delete the imperfect Christian, but because he was convicted enough to delete him, and have to start his Facebook a new. Now it is up to him to use that conviction in a manner such as Paul did, and take the gospel to the world, or to let it grow calloused and go the route of Pharaoh, and be a part of the gospel that was worldly. Three Strikes, You're Out!

"How many times should I forgive my brother Lord?"

How many times in life do you want God to forgive you?

I have wondered how two (2) guys can square off in the ring, and then hug afterwards. I mean at least I feel that way about the ones that talk smack for 90 days, and then try to literally kill one another. Then after it's over see it as just business as usual, and hug and make up after the fight. Some folks may have had a fight in third grade, grow up, and still be so immature that they can't find a way to shake the hate.

Well here's what God says...
Pete, you pitched a good game, you managed to strike out friend number one on three pitches, but being a good sport, you doubled his chances, plus one and gave him four more strikes, but nonetheless you still struck him out! Why not give him 70 times 7 in his chances, and better your odds at keeping a few friends? I am the only friend you have that homers at every at bat, and pitches a perfect game every outting..." (Matthew 18:22)

Father if I have one friend that I have offended, or hurt, I pray for that 7-70 rule. If I have a friend that feels that they are in need of the 7-70 rule, then I pray that You, our Sovereign Arranger, would bless me with seeing that, and having the time that I need to make it right. I give You the praise Lord God, and ask for Your forgiveness in all of my sin, and give thanks for Your taking my place at the Cross. Blessed be Your name Lord Jesus. Amen.

Does This Ever Happen To You?

Imagine a bright sunny day, on a small town street. You're sitting in front of the bank with your windows down, a slight summer breeze eases through, and gently caresses your face. You can hear the river flowing just above a whisper off of the bank below, but you can hear the playing children clear as a bell. You can hear their enthusiasm as they are running about, laughing, and playing at the park on the other side of the river. Ahhh... the sound of small town laughter to remind you of your own youth. It's invigorating isn't it?! That's good medicine no matter who you are, however, abruptly out of the Carolina Blue, that joyful memory stroll is interrupted by a horn toot and flashing lights just down the street. Your perfect get-away sabotaged by noise pollution! In the country you can't say a block down, because this small town street is more like the one traffic light town. This town in particular has only a few shops left on it's main strip. It's a small town where pretty much everyone knows each other.

In this one particular case, however, it was the first time that the imperfect Christian had ever witnessed this person. She was petite, but looked a tad bit feisty! She appeared to be rushed on this beautiful sun filled day, and somewhat aggravated about it. She stormed out of her building, hands full, arms loaded, and now trying to get into a station wagon parked directly in front of her buildings doorway. She tugged at the handle, and for the life of herself, could not get the door to budge. She sat her coffee mug on top of the car, and now tugs even harder, and still no go. She tries the key fob again, and again a toot, and more flashing lights as she stands next to the drivers door.

At this time the imperfect Christian is almost in tears and trying to stay out of sight until he can regain his composure. He notices her reaching for the lock on the door with the key. At this point the imperfect Christian thinks about how bad he would feel if someone would have to have a lock replaced, or if they would have to have repairs made to their vehicle because he sat back and did nothing. Sure it made for a good laugh, but now the laugh was done, and it was time to assist and do the right thing. So the imperfect Christian opens the door of his church van, that is now a makeshift delivery van, and yells down the street to her, "Ma'am, their is a car just like the one you're attempting to get into, with the lights flashing right behind you." She throws her hands up, and says, "How dumb was that!?" She waves to thank me, walks back to the other car (hers) embarrassed, and still talking to herself while opening car door. It was too funny!

Then there was a time when the imperfect Christian was standing with a friend in the bank parking lot talking. We had just left the building, and were reminiscing over the past, when a man walked out of the bank, rudely said, "Excuse me," split between my friend and I, and got into the car we were standing next to. He fumbled around in his pocket, took one more hateful look at us, and then grabbed his keys, paused and looked around the car, and then slipped out a wirty dord...

My friend amazed said, "He just got into my car!" I asked if she knew the man, and she replied, "NO!" I turned back to look at him, and he got out of the car, and said, "I can't believe I got in the wrong .... car!" My friend said, "It's OK." I laughed and thought yeah we couldn't believe that either, I won't ask how you feel right about now, cause it shows all over your face! Classic small town duh... I left my brain inside moments.

Last but not least, on my way back home, I witness another station wagon funny. A man walks out of the gas station and tries to open the back gate on a Post Mortem Transport'em. It's locked, and the man shows his disgust. So he walks to the back passenger door, and gives the handle a tug, which results in an even more frustrated look. With one last attempt, he goes to the front passenger door, and is hot enougn to spit fire at this point. He goes back to the rear of the little station wagon, and take a glimpse to his left. What does he see? A car that is exactly like the one he's trying to break into! Again hilarious! The owner walks out with the lady that is accompanying the man, and imperfect Christian number two in the back seat rolls his window down to hear the man get cursed out. Instead the woman (owner of the car) starts laughing about it, puts her beer in the front seat, and the man and his family laugh back to their car, and he comes back, they talk more, and laugh a little more, and he says, "Well at least no one else saw, me and you didn't come out here mad and all." Then he looked to his right, and there we are the two imperfect Christians with grins from ear to ear! This happens way to often when I am around, but by the grace of GOD has yet to happen to me. Thank You GOD! (Smile)

Yeah the devil unloads some crazy things on us. We lose our focus, we believe the lies, and we have to snap out of it, and get on back on board. It's a lot easier, however, if we allow Jesus to see us back on board, and into the peaceful shore. Peter could have attempted to swim back to the boat, and climb aboard, but instead, Peter had to snap out of it, regain focus, and call on the Lord. Jesus not only took Peter to shore safely, but got all of the disciples back to shore safely. If you've lost focus today, I would like to pray for you. As a born again Christian, I will ask those born again to pray for me as well. Please leave your request at the site: http://sites.google.com/site/gotravvy

If you wish you may leave your name, or an alias, and please know that all requests are confidential. So please leave us your email information, and requests and if you desire we will get in touch with you as soon as we possibly can. Thank you and God bless.

Who Really Cares!?

I almost had to be excused for the title on this one. A Marine once said in front of me as a youngster "Who shives a get," to another Marine. You know the military has a code for everything. I didn't think that would be appropriate for a family show, so I cleaned it up for the kiddies.

It's 9-11 a day that most of the world will not soon forget, and a day that some will not think twice about until something of a greater magnitude happens to remind them. 9-11 reminds me of 12-7, it reminds me of people falling hundreds of feet to escape something that they felt they could not bear. It reminds me of pain and grief. It reminds me of some that went through crisis conversion, only to fall away from God once the smoke cleared. However, as crucial as it may be, it also reminds me of a nation that is stronger than any fear. A nation resilient enough to bounce back, and a nation that has overcome more than one tragedy, and does not lie down, but gets up dust off and just keeps getting better. We grow, in size, strength, love, and spirit! We have a president that is bi-racial y'all. Honestly how many would have believed it possible in our life time? I saw American Indians laughing with Asian Indians, White, Black, Latino, humans all gathered together in one place. Muslim, Hindu, Atheist, and Christian, even this imperfect one all gathered in one place to help assure that the world would not view us as a self righteous nation with a self righteous leader. Which brings me to this: if we can overcome the racial hate, religious barriers, and status quos then can't we overcome the arrogance? Not confidence, but arrogance. Racial tensions, and hatred have not gone away, they have just succumb to the greater power of love. Which leads me to believe that the cause of the attacks on our nation was due to arrogance, and ignorance.
I will follow up on the ignorance and arrogance in the next blog, as for tonight, I must meditate, and leave everyone w/ this thought when is it cool to call someone out in public, and when should we pull someone aside as not to offend or unnerve? When should we make a bold stand and when should we just be still? Think on it, pray on it, and make a difference. Love, peace and hair grease, or is it love, grease, and hair piece? At any rate grab your thinking caps and meet me at the forum. Peace, Blessings, and Joy... that real PB&J

Danger Keep Away!

Have you ever watched City of Joy with Patrick Swayze? It was a movie about a doctor (Swayze) visiting Calcutta, India. He went on vacation for a spiritual enlightenment, and wound up in the poorest sector of Calcutta, and becoming a hero of sorts. He was an advisor, defender of the people, and a doctor to a lepers colony. It was a very sad, but an aw inspiring movie that everyone should see!

Those that were not leper's condemned those with leprosy. They would not allow those stricken with leprosy to go outside of their own sector more or less. Treated them like they were not human, and were just down right disgusting in some of their actions toward the poor, and disadvantaged people. Until you've been treated like a leper you usually do not think much about it. I have never had any diseases, or disfiguring that made people not want to be near me. However, some people see skin color as a deformity, and some see deformation as a horrible thing.

As a child I was afraid of people with handicaps. I was afraid until I learned that they needed to be loved just like me, and wanted to give their love just as much as they wanted to be loved. I grew out of my fear with knowledge. But with increasing knowledge also comes increasing sorrow. (Ecclesiastes 1:18) I learned that not everyone cared for other people only themselves and what they believe in. Now I am not going to get on my political soap box, because I am not a politician, but an imperfect Christian that is an American Citizen. My ethnicity like all branches back to some ancient Hebrews, my detour takes place on every continent, until it stops right here in the good ol' US of A. Nothing presents my feeling like the lepers feel more than when I have someone tell me above all other things that they are not prejudice. Not a "Hey man that's a nice jacket," or "Hey that's an awesome haircut," just "Now I don't have a prejudice bone in my body! You know that, how you been doin'?" I have bit my tongue nearly in two attempting to prevent asking how many times they have said that to a person that was not connected to African descendants.

Every time someone speaks about our President not being a US Citizen like they were the doctor that delivered him, it gives me that same feeling. When they say that he's not a Christian, like they are God Almighty themselves it gives me that feeling. I didn't get worked up over John McCain saying, "That one." But I got that same nasty feeling, when others tried to make a huge race war out of his comment. We could talk abortion, genocide, right vs. wrong all day long, and it still does not remedy the problem that we have. Bridging the communications gap peacefully and rationally would be nice, rather than barking out you're not like me, you're going to hell! I do not hate Muslims, Buddhists, or Jehovah's Witnesses, in fact I am going to invite a non-Christian to have lunch with me in the very near future. Wow, wonder how it will pan out when we eat lunch together and realize that we both need nourishment, that we are both human, and we can sit together peacefully, and not worry about our differences, but find the common ground that allows us to be civil!? I'm praying that our nation comes to that conclusion also. When we can celebrate the day that we allow our President to speak to our children and not have the school officials treat him like the strong arms of India treat the lepers!

I have seen the schools allow DSS officials to interrogate grade school children with no questions asked. Take a frightened child into a room alone with one (DSS Worker) adult, no aide (legal or otherwise), neither parent present, no family member present, not even a guardian ad litem, and not make one phone call. They will however, send a personal message home for the parents to sign, or call every home concerning our President speaking with our children. I have not yet to this day that I am aware of witnessed that before. It is also a first that a President has taken time out of an overloaded agenda to address every child in the country with a positive non partisan, no political gain involved, "National" message to my knowledge as well. So what did the schools message say to me? It said in my interpretation: "Parents we don't want to be held responsible for what your child hears from the President, we prefer to make it appear that we are giving you a choice to speak up before the event takes place in hopes that you will keep us from law suits by sending petitions of disapproval against our President. However, with no warning and not caring about a law suit we will allow an individual to request that a DSS worker intervene, and tell you how to discipline, feed, and raise your child. Tell you what they can, and will not learn because we are not above the law, we are the law! We have thrown out all moral and rational dealings because what we say stands, this is not the NBA, NFL or any other league, group or democracy there will be no review, you will just have to get over it. Thank you." What they do not tell you is that they will do this until enough people stand together and override their ignorance. So why are you still sitting here reading this? Go make plans to be at the next Town Hall meeting, and boycott whomever, has no sense. As Mix-A-Lot used to say, "If you help get the fool hired, help get him fired." If you sat and did nothing, now it is time to take a PEACEFUL stand! Be heard, and be seen, don't be in the herd and make a scene!

"It's not because he's Black, African American, what term should I use here? It's because he supports Pro-Choice!"

Again the imperfect Christian does not support abortion, especially partial birth abortion. I also do not support the belief that legalized abortion is the only or leading cause of death, I believe ignorance is.
