The imperfect Christian has been blessed with some brilliant friends that say things that manifest their brilliance. A given is that The Holy One is the most brilliant, so I am going to give Him, His just due today, and praise Him.
In times of struggle, you may hear people advise others to go with there heart. Is that good advice? Go with a heavy, already hurting, and confused heart? What does a heavy heart produce? It produces a slower beat, and an eventual anxiety that leads to a shattered heart. Who sings that song, "I'm Falling To Pieces?" The lyrics say something to the effect of "when a heart breaks, it don't break even!" So is it good advice to tell someone to go with their heart? How about going with your gut feeling? Same difference different terms? Well here's something the imperfect Christian heard from the advice column: People that fail miserably are giving advice where they have not only failed miserably, but are still failing! That is powerful! How quickly are we imperfect Christians willing to give someone advice, when we don't have things straight in our own lives!?
Well via a tweet, I read these words: "Instead of following my heart, I have decided to follow Jesus!
There is a new release of a Southern Gospel Track titled the latter. So who, or what did you follow, and where did it land you? Here's where the imperfect Christian could've been had he followed his heart:
Krispy Kreme for breakfast every morning, unhealthy and unwealthy.
The Trek store, but healthy this time, however, again without funds.
The Music Shop with a huge smile and happy, until seeing that no funds leads to not being able to pay for the necessities in life.
Eating ice cream every night for supper at a little angels request, finding me in the end unhealthy and beaten by her mother.
Or on the road all the time, never at home, and eventually without a home. The imperfect Christian and Kert, the lonely rolling stones!
Oh the list could go on, but in plan simple English, if a six year old gets it, then you in the 20/30/40/50/60 year old body with the mind of a teenager should get it!
Peace, Blessings, and Joy... that real PB&J
